good morning, this is a small mercury mine that I backed a Mexican miner with. The deposit is below that knoll, yet lightening consistantly hits the deposit, not the knoll? In one strike it killed over 50 goats.
The ore was in the form of walnut sized pebbles with cinnabar coating the outside, perfect retorting ore.
My friend built three large retorts. Our best retort manager was a local gal. She worked for a year, then we shut down because of the low price for the Mercury. It is Not worked out. We have never re-opened it. It is now many years since working there, she still has no adverse symtoms, in fact she is quite normal in every way and has normal children. Yes I have been monitoring her, I feel that I have a responsibility to her. With normal care the danger of mercury is apparently vastly over played.
The oven is where I had the incident with the huge piggy.
