Small lock with a lage S engraved in it.

I found a small lock with a large S engraved in it. My guess is that this is probably not that very old, but I have never seen a lock like this one. It is kind of small, less than an inch squared. It has a large S engraved surrounded by a square. What I find strange is that i found this in an old Pony Express site in Wyoming, and that i know of not a lot of people come around that area. It is probably from the 1970s or so but I just wanted to make sure since i have never seen a lock like this one before.

I found it at about 4.5", so that tells me also it is not that very old.

Anyone knows for certain how old is it?

Slaymaker Lock. Usually used on Bicycles with a cable attached.
