Small gold again .....big gold proves elusive.

Excal sniffs out more small gold.....the bigger stuff eluded me again. One of the beaches I hunt sees very subtle sand movement normally and a lot of hunters. The tourists are mostly gone now and targets are far and few between. Yesterday there was a small low spot no more than 4-5 ft wide that ran the length of the beach just below the high tide mark. I hunted this lane for a few hours and managed a sunburn, this 14K pendant on a 925 chain and a 925 dolphin earring. The earring broke when I tried to straighten it. I always love that moment when you remove some sand and see a small chain like this one. You know the detector didn't hit on the small chain this far down so you know there is something on the end of it. There is a moment of anticipation...."oh boy......whats on the end of this sucker?". Gets your blood going...






I bought my 10 yr old daughter her first metal detector this week.....Tesoro Compadre. I took her on her first hunt this morning. The first hole she digs....42 Mercury dime. She is hooked...
