Small copper disk with holes.

Does anybody know what this little copper disk is? You can compare the size to the nickel pictured. I found this next to a courthouse the had Civil War prisoners in the basement in that era. It was a major area right on the river during the war. Thanks for the read and advice.

May be the center disc from an automotive thermostat. Monty OOPS! I didn't see that big red arrow pointing to the holed piece of metal!! Blind as a bat! No clue. Monty again
