Hello, Found this cool old buckle at an old site dating back to 1799 and that had some civil war heavy camping before Gettysburg. It measures approx. 1&1/4 inches by 3/4 of an inch. Hs the initials B C on it. It has teeth on the back, so I assume a sling or web belt of some kind. About 4-5 inches down. Thanks for looking! Paul :coffee2:

Congratulations on an awesome find !! Interesting enough I found just like it about 15years ago . Would love to see what info may turn up regarding its history. Thanks for sharing .

Nice!!! Congrats!!!

That's a cool find. Looks 1800's to me with out light brushing.Congratulations :icon_thumright:

Nice find on the old buckle. Very interested in hearing if you find out more about it. Thanks for sharing. GL out there.

Looks like a suspender clasp to me, interesting with the initials. I would look into late 1800’s railways like Baltimore to Cumberland or some other B C combo. Congrats!

New information, Its B W C, not B & C. Still not sure though but maybe closer? Paul
