🔎 UNIDENTIFIED Small brass or silver bar found in river?

1. About 2-3 inches long.
2. No markings, stamps or inscription to be seen.
3. Non-magnetic/does not stick to magnet. Color looks like brass or silver. Very stiff/does not bend, which makes me doubt it being silver.

4. Found while combing sandbanks of the Arkansas river, amidst a pile of old bricks and vintage coke bottles dated around the 1940s. Seems like the remains of a building were dumped or washed down there. If it helps, some 50+ years old pottery has been found in that same spot.

Possibly part of an old wet cell battery?

tinning solder . see if it scrapes with a knife.

That is a fantastic guess, thank you. I did see a faint horizontal line on one side that looks like the rectangle-shaped indent found on many tinning solder bars. One end of the piece I found does indeed seem melted as well. If nothing else comes up, I'm going with this answer.
