I found these 2 pieces today. The one I know is a scale weight. Ive found them before. But what is the other piece?

It is broken of course and the main part of whatever it is wasnt there. Someone suggested scissors but why would this be hanging off of them. What about spectacles that you had to hold to you face?

This site was a small town from 1760s-1780s and eventually faded away to nothing. Only thing left is whats in the ground, one cellar hole and a few bricks.

The second piece looks like part of a serpent sideplate off of an early musket. Here is a photo to look at for comparison.

Green check creskol!. It even broke in the same place as illustration #3.

I think they threw the example away after the book was written and you found it. Could it be more exact??? Almost scary.

Wow! You guys are great. Thanks Creskol !! Thats it! VERY close to the broken one pictured.

What I didnt mention in the post is this site was a supply and manufacturing depot in the Rev War. Green's troops rested there after the battle of Guilford CH and also prisoners were brought there.

This is awesome! Thanks again!!!
