I found this small box in a dump near my house (upstate NY). Dump has things from circa late 1800s to about the 1960s.

It is 1.5" x 1" and .75" tall. It opens and shuts easily. It is losing some paint in the west part of the map. The map border looks a little odd to me in the south west - like California extends too far south but that probably means nothing.

It has a circle in the middle with a small metal arrow that I haven't been able to move but looks as it it was designed to move. There are four weather conditions indicated: Rain, Stormy, Fair, Change.

My guess is that it held some sort of barometer type device (?) Hoping that it looks familiar to someone.

Thank you! :)

I think its just a little trinket box made to look like something interesting/different. Similar to the ones they made look like books on the selves.

It's an early manual pocket weather widget for those of us with CRS. ;D

That's a nice little box ! Doese the pointer spin when you flick it ? Maybe it's a magic weather prediction machine :icon_sunny:

I'm thinking a small pill box. Fairly recent--maybe 50's-60's.

Yep here is the inside. I don't know why I removed this pic from my original post. I guess that's bound to happen when you post at 3am :D
