Small Bottle with Wick????

[Michigan Badger]

I know if I'm going to get the ID on this little bottle it will be here. Dug this accidentally while digging coins. It was found at a very old lumber camp site.

It obviously has a burning type of wick but one person thought it might be some sort of early air purifier.

What do you think?

Being it's from an lumber camp would it be possible that with the wick and some smelly, combustible liquid it would be used to repel those big Michigan mosquitos. Did you see any of their ancestors at the site, Badger?

Oh ya! Here we have a bag limit on mosquitoes.

The site was a lumber camp at one time but for the last 100 years has been mostly a private residence.
