Small area = Big finds & big Silver 2 years in a row
Last year I hit a small green traffic circle which measures 54 feet across with a large pine tree in the center. It is located in a residential area built up in the 1920's or so, and is shown on the below Google map. Last year I decided to hit it for Shits & giggles and was surprised to find 4 silvers, a Buffalo nickel and a couple of wheats. The Barber and war nickel were a spill and were shallow, perhaps 2 1/2 inches. I checked the area pretty good before leaving. I decided to go back today to see if my skills on the XLT have improved at all, and I located another spill about 5 feet from last years, which had the Walker, war nickel and another wheat in it. It was in an area strewn with can slaw and really sounded weird. I think the war nick altered the sounds from the Walker. Surprisingly, these too were only 2-3 inches deep. Total for last year was 2 silver quarters (Wash & Barber), a silver Roosie, a War and a Buffalo nickel, 2 wheaties. I thought I "hunted it out" but when I returned today I found a Walking Liberty Half, a silver Roosie, another War nickel and some more wheats. Remember, this is from an area 50 feet in diameter....go figure.
Anyway, for your viewing pleasure I submit:
