Small and Round with letters FP&L co.

I have found two of these now near the same area. The area had a late 1800's house that has been removed. There is also some prior history to the house, maybe mid 1870's?
The disc measures apx 7/8" X 1/4". It seems to be made out of copper and is in two parts pressed together. They are not magnetic. You can see the seam in one photo. They weigh 7.8 grams each. When I shake one of them I can feel something rattling inside. It just barely moves. It almost seems like they could be pulled apart, but are way too tight to do so.
The two holes in the back make the item look like it could be a button, but the thickness and weight makes me think otherwise. The letters on the object read "F P & L Co"
Does anyone have any ideas of what they could be? Thanks, Highwater

Mack,
That makes sense for the letters, but what would they be used for. Maybe some kind of seal for a meter or something? Highwater

Ok, so mack got the FP&L co correct. I just did a seach on dogpile. Being that I am not from Florida, but just visiting, I didn't put that part together but indeed, there is a Florida Power & Light co. Good work on that one Mack.
Now to figure out the use of these items.

I agree they look like a seal for a meter box. probably put a wire through the 2 holes, twist it together then pop the front on to keep people from tampering with the meter.

oldspinning wheel type meter box ( seal) for florida power and light co. to keep folks from tampering with them and thus cheating the electric co. by breaking the meter --if the meter broke and the wire was intact -- they fixed the meter and ate the "lost" electric useage--- but if the meter was "busted" and the meter wire was broken you were in deep doo doo --

Agree. I had one on my meter. The house was built in 1964 and it was probably the original.
