I'm on the same pace as you Kiddo. But it sure would be nice to be the hare once in awhile.

I went as deep as I could this spot has really shallow bedrock im essentially digging on it

Good job those big pieces are on and in the bedrock! Don't be afraid to chisel and hammer!

Your sniffin it out! You'll catch it! Lol ...........I did scrap for a short time. When the costumer would hand us their gold, we would smell it and tell them "ya..that's 14k". They would take the loupe and look, and see we were right. Some were amazed. All it was....After a while you can tell by color! lol Some actually thought we were sniffing it to tell the k.

so what karat does my gold look like ?

I know that Georgia gold is some of the most pure in the world. i want to say that the gold that came out of villa rica and dahlonega was somewhere around 22 or 23 carat. Please dont quote me on that but im pretty sure.

Nice work Kiddo! If you read my signature line about perseverance,
you'll understand why we need to have that "never give up" attitude. :icon_thumright:

BTW, next time you take a pic of your gold, lay a penny or dime
in the pan when you take the pic, as that way we have some idea
of the sizes of the pieces.

Better shot of your gold...(I fix pics..lol)

unforstunatly I did a little more panning today and ran out of spot, theres not much if any gold left

Not even off to the sides a little? Maybe, I misunderstand what you mean by you ran out of spot.

by ran out of spot I ran out of dirt and I know that because it is just a pocket in the bedrock with gravels in it

Have you tried a hand dredge? Something to suck the remaining dirt and water off the bedrock?

I don't think its worth my time to get a new tool to mine this one spot

and im tired of mining it anyhow

I can respect that. Just a heads up though. RSMSherry bought a little pool water squirter from Walmart for $1 and said she suctioned a hole with it and got gold. Could be worth $1

I got those just laying around so I might try that tomorrow and by out of dirt any dirt left is too hard to scoop up with a shovel

Honestly, that's he best dirt to pan. If you can scrap the dirt with a shovel anymore, that means all those elusive specs and nuggets will sit there for another million years or so

Texas Gold, don't give up. Sorry for the photography.
Dig it up, you are only one foot from a million or is it a million feet from a dollar.
