Detector(s) used
Started with a Minelab xterra 505. Then Equinox 600 with stock coil, xl coil and sinper coil depending on circumstances. Now use a manticore.
Primary Interest:
Metal Detecting
These oak Hamilton Mfg Co printers cabinets are great for detecting finds. Originally designed to hold lead type set pieces they are solid and over build and also really darn heavy. Don't try to move one alone.

I have a few more drawers left to finish. The top five drawers are divided and a real pain to get all the old ink dust out. I end up having to take 30 nails out of the back of them, break the dow joints on the drawer front(glue is worn out anyway) then I can pull the drawer back and dividers out. The old ink filled liner glued to drawer back is removed, dividers hand sanded and then all put back together. Drawer pulls were sand blasted and power coated.

I tried the top most drawer without taking it apart and it's slow to do. So other divided drawers I'm taking apart.

Rest of drawers don't have dividers but they fit 8 x 12 x 0.75 inch riker cases and loose objects. My bayonets even fit in one drawer. Still have to get brass number tags for drawer fonts as the old ones were all mismatched and mixed up.

That is a very nice cabinet and you are doing an excellent job with the compartments. I have a similar case but did not add the dividers like you have.

Thank you and merry Christmas. Is yours from printing as well? The guy I bought this from has 2 large warehouses of stuff. When he buys these he ships the drawers to warehouse separately. So I had to go through a pile of drawers to first get matching hardware and then the number of divided and non divided drawers I wanted. Hamilton Mfg Co happens to make all drawers for their wood models same size it seems. In a print shop drawers could move around to different departments and still fit in cabinets. Hence why all the number tags get mixed up over the years. Cabinet came out of a shop in Virginia.

You set the bar pretty high, very nice.
At the moment I use repurposed plastic cases for my coin’s buttons, etc & a repurposed tea box for my larger items.

Mine was described as a map makers case. There were no dividers in any of the drawers. I added a center brace to stiffen the drawer bottoms.

That is a great looking cabinet, did you build it?
No. It was an old architects blueprint case. I just cleaned it up. I drove 3 hours to get another one for $75.00 but it was sitting outside and was weather rotted! The owner had this one inside but wouldn't take less than $450.00. She did throw in a box of broken arrowheads!
I still think I got a good deal.
