I've been hitting the Florida east coast beaches sporadically over the past few weeks, but keepers have been few and far between. (The sand has moved in considerably, even on the beaches they haven't intentionally replenished.) Below are the keepers from my past three beach hunts - two are firsts for me: 1) my first buffalo nickel (1937) and 2) my first .50 caliber machine gun shell.

As always, thanks for looking!

Nice coin finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Hello TomW244. Nice digs 'ya got there, congrats. The beach can be tough sometimes but I'd be happy with a merc, rosie, and buff over 3 hunts.

FL seems to be a good place to find 50-CAL shells I have found 4 or 5 at various central FL sites.

Thanks for the post and Good Luck out there. C9

you have a good beach to hunt as I have never found a merc or a buff at the beach but did find a 1899 barber quarter

Hey I found a .50 cal bullet on a Clearwater beach a few years back...the storm surge was chewing away at an old beach and uncovered it. The military must have shot at (or around) the Florida beaches??

They did a LOT of target practice during the war near the naval bases!

Thanks!

I'm hoping to get to some older coins and jewelry next winter, or after the next hurricane. And if you're listening Mother Nature, I'm FINE with waiting for winter!

I think there are 4 legs, but boy that is that iffy....!

The picture is a little washed by the lighting, but, sadly, this one has all four legs.
