Metal Detecting
My boss owns some property beside the Blue Ridge Parkway near the VA/NC border and asked me if I wanted to come detect today some with him today. There is some type of small old building near his house so we started there but there was just too much trash. Tons of mason jar lids and cans. I think if somebody had the time to work it there might be some decent finds there. We hit a few other areas and we were both ready to call it a day after finding very little. I did find an unfired bullet that looks kind of old. I haven't had time to clean it up yet. It does have a primer so it's not real old, but the lead has that white patina.

On the way home I stopped by a school for a quick hunt and my first target pulled from the field was this little ring. I didn't think it was silver at first but when I got home and cleaned it I saw the sterling mark. One thing that seems odd is it's not symmetrical, then again I don't know much about jewelry so maybe that isn't uncommon. lol

Anybody have an idea on what the inlay may be?

Thanks.

Looks like a classic turquoise and silver ring to me.
