Lately its just been lousy for me to detect, a lot going on. Work shift changes, night shift, overtime, so today I tried to get permission at 6 different places I had my eye on lately and no one answered ANY of the doors I knocked on, I was frustrated by that so I thought maybe my cornfield from last spring has been cut, heres the result of that Photo10241219.jpg, so I just hit a couple spots I already have been to with some ehh, ok, results. a 1911 V nickel in nice shape, a 56 wheat, and a mere 30 cents in clad. oh well, better luck next time I get a chance.....photo.JPG

Nice V nickle,I would call that a good day, they have eluded me thus far.

cjon455, I sure understand the feeling. I have found 2 new home sites and both are trash nightmares. You literally cant stick a shovel in the ground without getting rotten can parts or occasional or a mason jar lid. The first one gave a couple of wheats and a RFD Mail lock and the second was just too grown up to get much but a Mason Jar lid. Both appear to have been shacks. The old map doesn't give a clue of size. Returned to some of my old sites were beat to death with my G2. I had high hopes the T2 would pull some deep stuff. A few here and there but nothing of real consequence but the watch key I posted a few days ago. Still waiting on a couple of fields to be cut and one turned but really on a dry streak lately. Time to try some new research tactics. Got a bit of advice from another hunter on a new map tactic so gonna get busy trying that. Best of luck.....:icon_thumleft:

The fields I wanna hunt usually don't get cut till a day or two before first day of buck. I got out today and drove around looking and found a little neighborhood park I didn't know about. It had to be the trashiest one yet! Not above ground but below. They must have pushed a building down there. I dug old tin till I got tired and left. I am pretty sure no one had detected it, but there wasn't even clad to be found hardly.

What you got looks good.Pennies and pulltabs are my usual finds.HH.

I would be stoked to find a V nickel, I'm still looking for that honey hole!
