We hunted the outskirts of an old house today. It's way too dry to get in the yard. Hopefully will get some moisture by spring. I didn't find a lot but thought I'd share. Found a old toy cap gun, pretty cool buckle, harmonica reed and some other junk. Best find was a 1929 wheat penny and a 18?? V Nickel. Wish the ground here wasn't so hard on coins. Thanks for looking.

At least you know you are hitting an old spot. Nice to get out any day. Congrats on the coins and other finds. You will get more

Nice finds. I especially like that buckle frame. I think you've got a good spot there. Congrats and good luck on the next hunt!

Well buddy, you had a better day than me. 2+ hours clearing thorns and not a good signal. Slim picking, but all it takes is one good one.

Cheers

You had some good finds and the weather here in VA is supposed to stay warm into next weekend. Should be more chances to get out and add to those!

Nice relic and coin finds! Sure like the V-nickel. :occasion14:

old houses have been tough on me lately .....took a friend to old house site and dug 15 pennies , 8 are wheats.....no other coins. strange ? lots of good number in the 90s all parts of the house

That's a cool buckle

Slim pickings is better than no pickins or nose pickins. Glad to see you went out and pulled a few keepers rn. :icon_thumright:

At least you found a few keepers! I hunted an icy creek (the opposite condition of your dry soils :laughing7:) this weekend because it was the only snow-free area I could find. I didn't find a single thing, not even junk, but it was a beautiful afternoon outdoors.
