I'm not sure if they'll be worth hunting on Monday when I go back to my parents' place or not. I'll have two days to search, and I have a couple of swimming holes and a schoolhouse that was torn down in the 60's in mind as well. I'm trying to think "wet" at this point and just find some damp soil to dig in rather than the solid rock I've been cutting through lately up here.

Anyway, my parents live in the middle of ~550 acres that my grandparents own, and the whole property is full of 70-100 year old coal mine entrances and a few slag furnaces. I know there's a lot of old tools, etc near the mine entrances because we can usually find them just by looking when we walk past on hikes or whatever. Let me make this clear, I'm not intending to go in any of the mines, just around the outside because the ground is soft right now. I got a whole lot of feedback from hot rocks last time I was there too with my BH 505. Hopefully my ace250 will block them out (???) this time.

Anybody think these are worth checking much? The one other big reason I keep wondering about these places is because, like I said, my grandparents own the land, so I know I'll be able to hunt there. I'm not familiar with mining camps or how they worked or anything (if they existed) but should I check for anything in the general area of the mines that might produce?
