I found this ring this past summer and it's marked SL 325. Can anyone tell me what this marking means. Thanks

If this is gold, the purity is 7.8k (7.8/24 = 32.5% pure gold by weight). This is not a common alloy, and may be foreign. SL is probably the manufacturer's mark or brand. Are there any other marks?

Im guessing its sl925 witch would be 92.5 % silver. But I think its silver overlay.

The hallmark is Stetson Lomayestewa, he is a Hopi that specializes in silver overlay. His other hallmark is a star over a half moon.

Although the mark is small in the photo it looks like 925 to me.

Hey thanks guys. It definitely says 325 and not 925. There's some black stuff/dirt in the upper part of the 3 that makes it look like a 9. An older guy I talked to also said it might be foreign. The only other marking on it is a M with a circle around it, which I'm guessing it means for men.

I just soaked and scrubbed it again. It's a 3 and not a 9 for sure. Hopefully this picture is better.

It could be bad stamping. I gotta get it tested.
