My wife is out of town with some girlfriends, so I decided to go metal detecting after work yesterday and today. Yesterday, I had about an hour before dark and went to two or three local parks. All were packed, so I went near the tennis courts of the local High School. I found a penny.
Today, similar situation. Had about an hour before dark and went to an area that has four baseball diamonds that doubles as a drainage area for when we get rain. I figured the area would be really trash, but at one point, I held the detector up to the backstop fence, just to make sure my batteries didn’t die. I got a single pop . Not a coin signal heard at all! On the way back to the truck I found a quarter near the sidewalk. I hope this isn’t an indicator of how the rest of the year will go.
