Skipped watching football today....sure glad I did.

One of the reasons I started detecting again was because I had to give up my Seahawks season tix after 12 years because of the economy. Just couldn't afford the 1000 mile round trips this year. I still watch every game but today it warmed up to 46 degrees and I just couldn't resist the urge to go digging, so I recorded the game and hit an old school I've been eye ballin. After an hour at the school with nothing but clad I decided to head to my favorite park on the lake. Decided to hit the waterline and about a half hour in dug the 1896 "O" Barber half - my first one ever. About five minutes later I dug a 1906 V nickel also my first one ever.

When I got home I saw that the Hawks had lost to the Skins 23-17, normally I would be all PO'd about this but todays hunt put me in such a good mood that it did'nt even phase me.

Congrats on the Barber half and V nickel, in all the years I've been digging I've only found one half and it was a Bicentennial Kennedy. As for V nickels I found my 1st and only about 3 or 4 years ago and it was a 1886 in very bad condition. Even though it's the only half dollar and V nickel I've found they were my firsts ones and I considered them cool finds. Now if I could just find a Barber coin of any denomination I'll be happy digger.
