Skinning knife, or ???

Found this at an area that has produced LOTS of 1860's-1880's era goodies........I BELIEVE it is a skinning knife or similar, but cannot find anything in researching the name COLN for cutlery of that period, and that is some sort of bird (Stork?) above it.
That is an unfired 44 caliber caliber percussion bullet for scale...also from the area.

Anyone know of that name/logo?
 

England has a Coln Valley. Also a Coln river. Coln may have meant river in olde English.
