I am thinking that may be a G rather than a C and it is possibly an early General Electric promotional pin.

I was thinking Commonwealth Edison.

It could also be Chicago Edison Company. The president of that company in 1892 was Samuel Insull. In 1897, he incorporated Commonwealth Electric Light & Power Co. In 1907, his two companies merged to create the present day Commonwealth Edison Company.

This guy had his hands in everything that powered Chicagoland, from electric/gas utilities to almost every railroad, even radio stations (KYW was Chicago's first radio station in 1921).

His "approach made him an innovator in the use of technologies, financial instruments, rate structures, and promotional campaigns to create a mass market for electric light and power." :

I did find one CE Co pin (charm); however, it's not the same and doesn't say the actual company's full name nor give a date it is from:

Being that Spies Bros. is a Chicago jeweler, it's a good possibility that "CE" is Comm. Ed. or Chicago Edison...it could be a promo from his electric company or radio station.

Thanks so much for the info! I'm near the Chicago area so this is no doubt a "Chicago based" pin. I was leaning toward Comm Ed...
