while searching the local free paper, i came across an article on a small village nr me, that its school, village hall, football, play area were being put forward for development.....more houses in a green area of the uk to be lost...so i went out for a search round the park area, and surrounding 300yr old oaks, lots of rubbish. along with a small car toy, and 5 silver 5ps, 4 copper 2ps, 6 1ps, the ground was like frozen chocolate ice cream...it was a case of one scoop or two....i will return...when the weather gets better

An excellent start for your site. I bet theres plenty more to be found. Happy Hunting!

see if you can get permission from the developers to go over the land when they scrap back the first 12" of topsoil. Your be amazed at the stuff you might get.

Also they will need to do an Archaeological dig by Law before they can build. Therefore find out which Archie group won the contract & do what I do which is volunteer to help. That way you get first hand experience of your local History & they get help finding the metal they normally miss.

I wish they would do that in Northern Wi, that is do a archaeological dig before they build a road or house especially around the lakes & big rivers up here!

There's alot of lost artifacts that are being lost to construction. Good luck with future hunts!
