We have so many Sioux Quartzite chunks, pieces, brokes & maybe even a tool or two, I thought I would post a few pictures since some folks do not have this lithic in their area.

All of the pics will be of Sioux Quartzite items found on our farm in Clay County, Missouri.

I found this item today in a large campsite area 150 yards south of our home. The site is on the south side of an east-west ridge that once had it's own spring.
Items from this area are kept separate from items found in other camps on the farm. Interesting how different sites seem to have focus on different types of objects.

This pretty heat-treated item appears to be a device used to split wood.

Several of you suggest lots of pics. If too many please advise.

Thanks.

That one looks like just a rock. That's a good area you're in and I bet you do find some pretty cool stuff. Where I grew up they used Oglalla quartz. When it was heat treated it would have a shiny appearance.
