Found this in a park somewhat near a lake. I'm assuming it's a sinker but the lake it's near is very small and shallow can't see anyone using it for that. it has the 1 1/4 on both sides (even though the other side is a little beat up). Anyone... Bueller???

Although I've never seen a sinker that looks like that, there's a good chance that it is one. Although the lake is shallow, someone might have had it in his tackle box, and lost it. I would guess that the 1 1/4 would be how much it weighs in ozs.

definitely a sinker. that type is used in salt water all the time.

Thanks. I'll probably keep it in my odd finds collection. I'm not much into summer fishing, however, I'm addicted to ice fishing and I wouldn't have a use for it.

Sinkers of this shape are generally used for bottom fishing, the round body doesn't snag on the bottom. Very common here on the Lake for bullhead and catfishing.
