Thank you Matthew: Where does John Willey of the staff of William Morrow and Company and Miss Edith Mirrieless, member of the English faculty of Stanford university fit into the preparation of Ely's book. Cordially, Gregory E. Davis
The mystery solved.
The man who wrote the book titled, The Lost Dutchman Mine using Sims Ely's manuscript and notes was Bruce Bliven Sr.

Author, writer and editor Bruce Bliven.
Can you expound on this? Is there a paper trail that follows back to Mr. Bliven?
Cubfan64,
From Bruce Bliven Sr.'s biography:
Bliven would work 7 days a week 11 months of the year and from 1950 on he devoted all his time to writing books and manuscripts.
From 1940 - 1968 Bliven would take home a brief case full of submitted manuscripts 5 nights a week.
Bliven was also a writer for the New York Globe, The New Republic and New Yorker magazine as well as several other major publications.
Bliven received high reviews for many of his books and was known for his fresh, often unexpected approach to writing.
Yes, Bruce Bliven's life and work is well documented.
Best,
Matthew
Hello Paul and Matthew: If William Morrow and Company is still in existence they may have those records or they may be with the writer if he is still around. Cordially, Gregory E. Davis
