Simmons Hardware Co Shield (Leader)

Hunted a 1898 property. The boy pulled this from ground tonight. I have researched for two hours and found nothing on Leader from the Simmons Hardware Company, St Louis, MO. Any ideas on the "Leader" ?

Thanks I found alot of the white clad shields but nothing on the leaders.
