Hello all,I found this item the other day that is similar to one that i found years ago.The one i found first was at a colonial foundation site that was the residence of Colonel David Shaw who was the leader of the local militia.I always believed it to be an "epaulet" of some sort. The other day i was searching the yard of a house that dates to the early 1800's about 5 miles from the other site were i found my militia buckle, when i found this similar item. Both have "eyelet's" on the edge and small holes. Now I'm wondering if they are actually something else entirely.Could they be part's of an old picture frame ? If so why the eyelets and holes ? Waazzzit ?? Photo 1 is the first one i found.Thank's !
