Got a permission at an old house this morning. The owner said the yards had been tore up and sodded over multiple times. Sure enough, there was nothing there. But the driveway was just gravel and dirt from the sidewalk to the garage and he said it had never been messed with.
I managed to pull two SLQs and a 1941 Washington plus 5 wheats. One of the SLQs I can make out 1921, but the other is dateless.

They're pretty beat up from being driven on for the last 80-90 years, but I'm happy to get them!

Congrats oldmxrat on the great silver haul. If you dont mind? What method do you use to extract your silver from a packed gravel driveway? Thanks.

While I am not oldmxrat, what I can say is that a gravel driveway is the only time I use a "probe" type tool. A screwdriver is able to get in there and loosen up the gravel way better than any hand digger can in my experience. It still takes a little work though.

I use this small (12oz) hand mattock.

My best and most difficult driveway finds have been from those where the owner spreads new stone every couple of years. Maybe being so hard to dig is why others have left them for me to find? Nice finds though, heck even for the bullion value.

A 1921 is a semi-key date. Too bad about the condition.
