Silverlining's Coin roll hunting log

I started coin roll hunting on 11/22/2013. I used $85 that I found metal detecting to buy nickel and dime rolls. I found a 1943 D War nickel, 1959 D dime with a hole in it, and a 1961 P dime after 4 searches (or $340 worth). I found a 1951 D and a 1954 D wheat pennies on Saturday in $5 in rolls. I will be getting some more rolls anytime soon, so I will post on here if I find anything.:)

Nice finds. I've searched 100+ Nickel boxes and have not found a 1943D.

I found a 1967 half and a 1944 war nickel. The 1967 half was my last silver of 2013. The 1944 war nickel was the first silver of 2014 for me. HH

I got a bunch of rolls today and pulled out three 40% Kennedys and a Franklin, but it was quite a few rolls. Never did nickels.

I searched through $500 of half dollars to find that 40 percent half.

Today I found a wheat penny in $5 of rolls. I didn't get any silver from a new bank that I got rolls from.:sadsmiley: HH

This is what I found today in $50 in Dimes and $50 in Nickels.
-1944 P Nickel
-1945 P Nickel

2 silver nic's out of 25 rolls is pretty good. I'm hoping to find my first silver nickel of the New Year soon. HH

Update: Well I just found it in some mwr nic's I got for the wknd....a '44P. I guess that was soon enough lol.

H$H!

We have found the two silver nickels in machine wrapped rolls also.8-) HH

My average amount of war nickels to nickels is 1 to 1600-2000 or $80-$100.

We just found a 1964 D dime in $50 of dime rolls.:) We were skunked in our $50 of nickel rolls (no silver or 2009s).

Nice 1943 D! I've been CRHing nickels for almost 10 years now and I have never found a 1943 D. Partially probably because I'm on the east coast... I've easily gone through over $25,000 in nickels.

I have found a 1964 D dime, 1964 P dime, and a 1968 D half dollar in $100 in dimes, $100 in nickels, and $5 in half dollars over the past few days.

I have found it from the clad money from our first year of metal detecting and about $15 dollars from my children so I have searched through about $80 in nickels and found it. Beginner's luck I guess.

Well, today I looked at my dryer and I discovered a tab hanging out of one of the flaps that push the clothes along as it spins. I had found that that flap was loose and I pulled it back and about 3 pennies fell out. I kept shaking that flap and tried all he other ones and got this:
-2 Canadian dimes
-1 Canadian penny
-9 pennies (all the zinc pennies are showing at least some white, and a 197? coin has been there so long, you can not make out the fourth letter of the date)
-1 dime
-1 quarter (It looks like one that I found metal detecting)
Well, in the end, I got a pretty good surprise, and a quiet dryer.

Today I found 2 silver coins searching through 100 dollars of 50/50 dimes and nickels.:laughing9:
-1963 D Dime
-1947 S Dime

These are some finds that I forgot to mention.
-1961 P Dime 3/1
-1964 D Dime 2/28
-1963 P Dime 2/28
-1964 P Dime 2/28
2/28 was a three silver day. I searched $100 worth of dimes.:headbang:

This is a tube filled with all the dimes we found CRH. We have found a 1946 P dime on Friday to add to it. It is now 13 dimes. I have not been coin roll hunting for a while.:hello:

We went to a new bank today and we searched though $30 in nickels. We found a buffalo nickel (dateless) and a 1957 nickel in the third roll. We later found a 1949, but that was it. We turned the nickels into the bank and got dimes. We only found a 1979 Barbados ten cent FN with a low mintage. There are the finds in a z pattern below.

Considering the small amounts you are searching, you are finding a lot.
