Howdy fellow dirt fishermen,
I got out for a few hours this morning, before the sun here a mile up
started to cook my brain. I got into the yard of an old small house that
was built in 1886. I had really high hopes for this place, but I saw that
there was some dirt added to the front yard, and the back yard was
almost a solid layer of beer tops. Broke out the old Blue Max 600 coil,
and found some stuff in between the beer tops. Not much for old coins
but for a couple of wheats, and some clad. Found some marbles and a
glass bead.
Now for the whatzits. I have an idea of what they are, but I would like
to hear what you all have to say. They are made of solid silver and were
found with the 2 springs in the picture. All was found in about a 6" circle.
You can see where the springs were supposed to fit onto them, and I believe
they would hold some type of circular object. They weigh in at 2 grams apiece.
Let me know what you think.

I have no idea what they are, but you have some pretty cool finds.

Nice watch fob. I keep telling you all
I ain't no good at test so what is whatzits? HH and keep it swinging

Desertfox

did you try putting the four together and the springs on the ends to hold them together? Maybe that would help id them.

Don't know about the whatzits, but the Liberty Bell Fob is really cool!

Congratulations!

No ideas on the "whatzits" but the FOB is pretty nice...silver is nice no matter what shape it takes..

OK guys & gals,
I'm not positive, but I think I've seen these things in old movie projectors.
Although, the ones that I've seen before, were quite a bit larger than these.
When I was a teenager, my dad bought an old movie projector from an old
drive in that went out of business. I thought he was nuts, until he took it apart,
and retrieved about 2 lbs of silver out of it. They looked like small ingots.
Now, with that being said, I just can't figure out what the application would
be for these things. ???

could it be some kind of jewelry like a stretchy bracelet???

Your finds look like mine from the weekend
minus the silver, the fob, the wheats, the marbles aww hell lets just name the stuff I found instead of what I did not...
Lets see that would be trash and some clad.

Hey Slabman,

Nice diggs. Some strange stuff.

I like the watch fob. Great picture. Very crisp close up. What model camera did you take it with. ( I ask this a lot, because I am looking for a new camera)

Thanks.

Hey Ray,
I've got 2 older Sony DSC-S85's . They are only 4.1 MP, but still take
pretty nice pictures when you have correct lighting.
