don't believe it will work on the wet sand. you pretty much need a unit made for that. but hey, i only live on the coast, not in Arizona. so, what would i know. haha. i do know the vaquero does not work good at all on wet salt sand. dry sand it is o.k.
 

The Silver will not do well even on dry beach near the ocean. It has built in mineral rejection that makes it not behave well around salt water or high salt content sand. My wife and I went with her Silver and found out the hard way. However the Compadre did extremely well in the dry sand. The Silver does well on fresh water beaches and just about anywhere else. Hope this helps......
