Any ideas what this can be?

It is 9cm long and made of silver i would say!

If you watch closely you can see fingerprints on it.

Yes, spoon handle, but it looks like someone may have repurposed it as some kind of tool. Closer examination of the end will determine if it has merely been broken or is actually smoothed and finished.

Looks to have the 'Diana head' hallmark used for silver in the Austrian/Hungarian Empire between 1867-1872. There's another hallmark partially obscured by the triangular hole which will likely be a town mark or maker mark.

The silver thing is actually made of silver. I recognize the mark right away on post #1 and it's no surprise Red-Coat had already jumped on it.
