Finally a good detecting day! After only one outing this year (and finding just a single wheat cent), I hit the jackpot today. The first house, an 1866 beauty, turned out to be a relocated structure – bummer. Luckily, my next stop at a gorgeous 1907 mansion paid off BIG time.
The owner's son, a super nice guy, explained his mom's usual reluctance to allow anyone on the property. When I promised to be quick, he graciously gave me 30 minutes. I think I actually stayed closer to an hour and found 3 Mercury dimes and wheaties! He even said I could come back anytime he's there (usually Saturdays, 9-11 am). I cannot wait to go back!
The third stop didn't yield much, but something about that huge 1868 estate calls to me. I'll be back....
