I went out after work last night to an old house site.

I was able to get a couple of Wheaties and a "flat" button. I don't know anything about buttons, so any info is appreciated. It is domed, smooth front and the shank does not look like the buttons I see on TNet.

Then I dug a token, horseshoe and star on the back, eagle on the front, no verbiage other than "no cash value". It looked sort of old, but I don't know about that. Bigger than a quarter, but thin.

Then came the treasure! I dug a choppy mixed tone, first out of the hole is a clad quarter, then a rusty nail, then a chunk of something, as I wipe it off, I immediately know what it is... silver spoon ring! A big smile crept across my face.

Thanks for looking and good luck on your hunts!

Great finds there CT. Looks like a good spot. Love the button and ring is that sweet silver you love.

Nice Tom, good work buddy, very cool finds!

Sweet hunt!! Lots of Sweet goodies on that hunt.

Love that spoon ring. I got a silver spoon yesterday. It was bent up pretty good but, not in the shape of a ring. Lol

Never seen a ring like that Tom - very cool!

Tom, Yours is one of the prettiest spoon rings I have seen, congrats. I have yet to dig one...Sub 8-)

WTG Tom. I have only seen plated ones. That's the way to turn the heat up with the other guys!

Thanks OD. I was quite excited when I realized what it was. I am sure that you remember these from the early 1970s. As soon as I wiped the dirt off of it, I knew it was silver... it a really nice one too, very ornate and made out of a Gorham spoon. Good luck on your hunts!

Tom,

Good score on the spoon ring.....I've only dug one over the years but mine was just plated.

Glad you managed the real McCoy.

Regards + HH

Bill

I THINK... spoon is made from 1964 La Scala Pattern.
