This silver spoon or fork handle was found at the site of an antebellum house that was still inhabited in the 1960s. It is extremely thin (.6 mm) and has a partial company name. The first name is cut off but ends in "yes". What I can read says "yes & Rand". Can anyone identify this company and provide dates of manufacture based on the partial name on the handle? Thanks.

Used to be a guy on this forum that had a fair amout of info on old American silver. I had a really old early 19th century looking, spoon he couldn't I.d... Seem this country early on had many silver smith's working as a cottage industry with very little to no info on them. It's most likely old coin silver I'm thinking?. Either a spoon or a fork.?

Thanks Tamrock. My search found a couple of possibilities with Rand but nothing that matches a name ending with yes. I thought Hayes would be a good candidate, but no luck there. Hopefully a silver expert can identify. Thanks for your response.
