Great finds. I love that happy little horse.

I really enjoy it when folks from outside of North America contribute to this forum. Thanks for doing so!

Wonderful old copper coin. The horse thingy appears to be a broach with the pin missing. A cute brass buckle and a silver coin make a great hunt. Thanks for sharing your Swedish treasure with us.

The horse shows signs of being a families Livery, like a Coat of Arms.

Very nice finds! Horse is so cool, love the coins! I really like how you photograph your finds against a right angle ruler, think I'll be photographing my finds the same way moving forward. Congrats and HH

Very nice finds,, have you considered having the Horse Brooch restored?
Congrats on your finds.

Thanks you all!

Z.K,
I'll try when I can. Getting permissions has been troublesome for some years in certain regions of Sweden.
Just now getting some confidence from the peeps here. Been trying to work on that.

Kurios1,
I did research that, but came up empty handed. My initial thought was the same as Crusader's.

Crusader,
It does seem likely. I've found several horseshoes. According to the some old paperwork, it was a dragoon (as in soldier) that lived here.
So it's that a or military equivalent. I sent of a few pics to a museum for proper ID.

Diggin,
I find myself regularly sending pics of for registration to the archaeologists. That's the reason for the ruler. :)

Against the wind,
No, not as of yet. Waiting to hear from the archies.. if sufficiently old they might want to have a look at it.
I am though considering having a replica made in silver.

Sweet Finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Love it all! Haven't seen a horse like that yet. Congrats. -Lisa & John

Thanks!

Yeah, the horse was a first for me to.

Thanks you all!

I don't mean Livery, as in Horses, I mean a wealthy families Livery, similar to these used on buttons;
(I would date yours to the mid-19th C)

Although if the Military guy was a high up officer that would fit.

I understood what you meant. I was just speculating that the motive (i.e. horse) makes sense for a wealthy horseman.

Thanks for dating it; I'll certainly try to pair it with the inhabitants of the town at that time. Man, if that thing could talk!
