I hit a picnic area in the far corner of a park today, you know, that picnic table where you have to carry all your stuff across a field before you can have your picnic. I never could figure out why people would use them, but to each his own. Anyway, I was just getting started setting up a pattern when this guy comes over and starts talking to me. I don't mind a friendly conversation but I was sort of busy metal detecting. We did have a brief conversation however and by the time he left I had lost my place. Oh well, on we go and within a couple swings, VDI #82, a silver dime! I am sure I would have missed it had he not come over. Thank you mister! Now that I have my first find I reset my search area and find 4 Wheat Cents! Now that's a nice day. But I keep searching and after an hour or so I find myself farther from the picnic table and no more goodies. So...back to the picnic area! This time I pick up where I left off and hit a nice high tone. A silver ring! Cool! Put the plug back and recheck the hole, Another high tone. What? It's right next to the plug I had just dug. Ok, sounds good, 6" deep another silver ring! Have you ever tried to high five yourself? Don't bother, it doesn't work. Another hour, two more Wheat Cents and a clad dime. Here' the dates: 1945, 1951D, 1953, 1956, 1956D,1958D Wheat Cents, 1964 Roosevelt Dime View attachment 892397 View attachment 892398 View attachment 892399 View attachment 892400 Thanks for looking!
