Hey folks,
I hope you're all getting along well! February has turned into a good month of hunting for me. The weather here has been wet but mild and my work schedule has allowed some flexibility.
Lucas (NoThisIsPatrick) and I made a little day trip to an old town yesterday in search of permissions and loot. We landed on just the right doorstep. The first woman we talked to invited us into her house, told us about the history of the town for 20 minutes, and then gave us permission to multiple old properties she owns! Not only that but she started to call and text her friends to ask if we could hunt their yards as well. Talk about a game changer!! We didn't get to half the places she told us about.
Anyways, it was actually a slow day at the beginning. After the first half of the day we maybe had a collective 3 wheats, a tax token and Lucas found a Rosie. We finally got on a good yard on the second half of the day and it was a blast. You should check out Lucas' post (http://www.treasurenet.com/forums/today-s-finds/627844-silver-civil-war.html) if you haven't read about the Civil War Officer's Artillery Cuff Button he found. Pretty darn cool. Very very rarely do we get something that old and interesting here in the Pacific Northwest.
My highlight of the day was a 23-S Merc from the same yard. I also landed a few modern wheats, a couple tax tokens and a decorative old button.
Today I found myself with some unexpected free time and hit my brother up for a hunt. It was another slow going day until he told me he found a Rosie. That dude is an animal. 3 hunts this year and 3 silvers, one each time. What a guy.
I was able to find a Rosie too before the end of the hunt, 62-D. Also got 6 wheats, a Tootsietoy Jeep and a couple more tax tokens.
It was an encouraging and fun weekend of metal detecting. Good time with friends, good finds all around and great adventures.
Thanks for reading and happy hunting!
