I found a ring in my backyard in Lethbridge, Alberta today. But I have no idea what type or it's value.

It appears to be a silver ring with 6 diamonds set in metal petals, surrounding a large pearl. The ring weighs about as much as a US quarter. Also on the 'petals' there seems to be some corrosion with very light hints of green. This ring is about the diameter of a nickel, not including the buldge of the pearl.

Also there is some writing on the back, which I can't quite make out. I think, from left to right, it says "AV" followed by two stamp marks that look similar to zeros.

Any help identifying or placing a value on this would be great!

Thanks

I believe you have a costume ring made by Avon. They sell lots of jewelry as well as cosmetics.

Neat ring.

Thanks :O) That is what I have come up with as well...

In 1886 Avon was founded by D.H. McConnell, Sr
In 1920 Introduced the Avon jewelry line to the California Perfume Company
In 1930 changed its name to Avon Products Inc
Quality was comparable to Coro and other fine names
Avon did not manufacture its own jewelry

Marks 'AVON'

I am still interested in placing a value on it.
