Dug this ring a couple days ago out of a 1920's home in the nicer part of the midtown area of Kansas City, Mo. It's a small ring. Only fits my pinky. No writing other than "sterling" on the inside.
If it helps, two other unusual finds from the same yard were a 1928 Republican Convention badge and an 1883 Swedish? coin. Anyway, would love some help deciding what the crest on the ring signifies and/or says.

Thanks!
Regards,
Jules

It looks more scandinavian or icelandic. Maybe a family crest or coat of arms. Great finds, BTW. Maybe a few from across the pond can help. :dontknow:

I do too! It's one of my favorite digs of all time. I should probably post it in the whatsit as well. A google search shows several, but I'm unable to find an exact match yet.

Thanks Alabamared and 72cheyenne!
Makes sense that it's a womens ring due to it's size. Very wide though.

Jules

I was going along the lines of it being old Norse, due to the swedish coin found..and yes it's swedish,"Helvetica" is the old name for Sweden.

Helvetica is the old name for Switzerland not Sverige

The badge in the middle is from the 1928 National Republican Convention. Originally, it was composed of two parts mounted on a Red, White and Blue Fish Tail Ribbon. The top part says Entertainment and enameled GOP in Red, White and Blue. The bottom part features a Red Heart in the middle that says The Heart Of America with Kansas City and 1928 below the heart and National Republican Convention around the outside of the heart. The makers mark on the back says Van Deusen Adv. Co. Kansas City, Mo.
And it looked like this, originally: http://www.worthpoint.com/worthopedia/nm-1928-gop-national-republican-convention-badge

Thanks Mackaydon. I ran across several variations in my search, but was unable to find an exact match. Much appreciated.
