"silver proofs"?

Hello everyone. I have seen folk's talking about silver s proof half's. I have a 1981 s and 2010s but the edges look clad to me. Do these have a silver content? The edges definitely don't look like the regular silver half's. Thanks.

proofs are made in both clad and silver. either clad or 90 percent silver. you can tell if they're silver

if they don't look silver, chances are that they are not. Anyway, a proof half dollar is a good find reguardless of silver or not!!

Since 1992 the mint has made both clad proof sets and 90% silver proof sets.
