Hat pin - stick pin - cravat pin. Late Victorian. Very cool!

I agree, Tony. Wrinkled snout looks like a pig to me, too.

Maybe a ring ?
Does the pointy end look like it may have be curled?

Thanks everyone! I'm going with hat pin. It was straight when I found it and seems too long to be made to wrap around a finger. The thing that I thought was odd is that there was no "925" mark on it? Does anyone know when that marking became common...or required?

Pretty sure that's a pig face, up turned snout, not pointy muzzle like a fox would have.IMO

Looks like a Cobra snake with a pigs head. Stickpin fits, but I wouldn't bet all my money on that assumption. I can't tell 100% what for sure it is. It could be a wrap around ring also???

How do you know it's silver? Tony

A lot of earlier silver is not marked, though this item has a classic silver color, if it was plated I would expect it to look very different, with a flaky silver color and corroded patches.

Here is a silver shoe buckle, I knew it was silver immediately due to it having a nice silver color with slight tarnishing but no corrosion anywhere even though it was underground for around 250 years.
