Primary Interest:
All Treasure Hunting
Got out for a couple of hours and hit one of my permissions that I have pounded really hard but am convinced there is still juice to squeeze. I have found plenty in the way of coins but not much in jewelry most likely because I haven’t spent a ton of time digging junk or iffy signals. So today I told myself to dig it all. No joy with the jewelry but I did get a fair share of pop tops and such but I did squeeze out two Mercs (1936, 1943) and nine wheaties (oldest 1940) and a bit of clad for the “next detector” fund.

So I got home and headed down to the basement to my treasure room to clean up my finds and as I entered the sacred treasure room I spy a four foot black rubber snake in the middle of the floor, well it was rubber until it started moving! Realizing my loyal digging daschunds “The incomparable Mr. Wilson” and “Schatzie the Nazi the blitzkrieging doxie “ were in mortal danger I leapt into action using my daschund like reflexes and secured said snake! He was none to happy to be thwarted as you can see. I released him out back in the woods, would sure like to know how he got in the basement!

Headed to Nags Head tomorrow morning, will try my hand on the beach and water, to date I have had little success with either but a day of swinging and getting nothing is better than a sharp stick in the eye. Thanks for looking and HH!

Yep, that is one mad snake. I hate he was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Congrats on the finds.:icon_thumright:

Nice finds! But now you have to change your screen name to Rikki Tikki Tavi....

Nice finds and capture/release! :icon_thumleft:

Now THOSE two don't look spoiled at all ! Yeaaa...snakes-in the house...not good. Congrats on plucking those two hidden Mercs, now go get those rings! Ddf.

Nice score on the Mercs! :icon_thumleft:

Good on you for turning him/her loose. People fuss about ticks, but don't realize that snakes help to reduce the tick population by killing the mice that host the ticks that get on the deer. An arrowhead hunting friend of mine was just diagnosed with AlphaGal syndrome, which I had never heard of. He's lucky to be alive, and will never be able to eat red meat again.

By the way, my comments apply to native snakes, not all the exotic species imported into the US that are released or escape.

I HATE Snakes!:skullflag:

Nice finds. Does the snake count as a return? If so, I'm voting honorable mention!

Congrats on your finds, and releasing the snake. I never kill them, as they are very good on insect control.

Love those "Doxie" names BH!!! Glad you and your pups made it through the ordeal unscathed!!! nice finds and good luck at Nags Head... "D"

Nice finds, great snake pic. Way to let him go and not kill it.

Wow, great silver finds and a good story too. Good luck at the beach.
