Hey everyone. I’m new to this site and I was wondering if anyone could tell me more about my 1998 “D” silver plated penny?

I can’t find to much about these.
Thank you in advance!
may have had a silver dime in a tumbler wash with a bunch of pennies...by accident - it has happened to me...!

Welcome to treasurenet from SoCal Don
Your item is a novelty item as DigToChina mentioned above.
Thank you, glad to be here.
Could you tell me more please? Is there many of these? It this a genuine error or just someone experimenting? Thank you for your response

Pennies today are zinc with a copper coating. Most likely there was a failure in giving it the copper coat. Valuable? Maybe more than a penny, but I wouldn't give 2 cents for it.
