Found these this 1863 Indian and this pendant. The silver pendant was about 8" or so and Indian was only 4-5". Regarding the pendant, I am wondering if that 1830 date is the date of a Church or is it the date it was actually made. Found them both near each other in an old neighborhood over the weekend. I am brand spankin new at this hobby and really enjoy it. good luck!

I think its the date of the church. I've found 4 or 5 that look the same with the same date.

1830: THE MIRACULOUS MEDAL was revealed to Catherine Laboure, a novice of St. Vincent de Paul's Daughters of Charity at Rue du Bac, Paris, France. She received four apparitions and then ecstasies for the rest of her life. The message of the Miraculous Medal is devotion and belief in Mary's IMMACULATE CONCEPTION and the dispenser of graces.

Catherine was shown the Virgin of the Globe representing all our prayers being presented to God at the hands of Mary. She was then shown Our Lady with rays of light coming from Her hands representing all graces received through the hands of Mary.

She was then shown the back of the Medal with the TWO HEARTS OF JESUS AND MARY. The visions of the medal were on November 27, 1830.

Catherine lived to see two more apparitions of Mary, La Salette and Lourdes. The body of Catherine Laboure has remained uncorrupted to this date.

Its the date of the visions. That is a nice piece of silver you found.....congrats on the indianhead.....and Welcome to TreasureNet!! :)
Wow. Thanks Mona. Great information....... and i forgot to say good find lostlake!

Thanks guys,

What would be the age on that pendant, it seems one of us has found plenty of them. Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure of the age lostlake. The gold colored ones I found (not actually gold) I think were from a church giveaway. I found them all in a church/school yard that only dates back to 1953. The other two were found in another schoolyard that was slightly older (1930's I think.) If I had to guess an age (at least of the ones I found) I would say 1960 or newer. I'd be inclined to say that yours is older because of the depth it was found at. Thats a good recovery from 8 inches. None of mine are silver or gold. I wish I could find a silver one like yours ;D
