Catalog Number a165-jes-cen
Type Pendant from a necklace
Datering Celtic/Romans (thought to be)
Material Ag
Mass gram 9.85
Size (mm) lwh l=30 b=15.5

Found on a field with many other old finds such as:
Denarius PONT MAX, six Sestertius and 13x Sestertius.
Also found on this field 9x Denier 9th century, silver coins from the 13th-15th-16th-19th, plus 3x sterling Henry III, Frederik II, Hendrik VII, many others.

I believe this was a trading post from long ago.

On adjacent fields I found a gold bracteate, 3x Tremissis Madelinus, 1x Tremissis france empire, 1x Sceatta Domburg, 1x Sceatta Anglo-Saxon type, 2x 13th century silver coins, zilver buttons, other silver coins such as a Solidus Christina Riga, penny Frederic III and more.

So I am believing that this find must come from the same era's. Looking to find exactly what it is, there is a determination that it is a pendant from a Celtic necklace, see the photos. But I don't believe it is so old.

On the bottom there appears to have been a silver wire thread through the object.

Two photos showing the object as found, with a caked shell around it. The following is after cleaning, then the reason for losing the object is that the eye is broken.

Cool find. Hollow with open work. Maybe a scent or perfume pendant?

Hey Matt, long time no see. My fault, don't get much time to visit here.
How's tricks in Virginia. I lived in Arlington for a few years (Army Days).
You are nice and close to Trump...

Thanks for your message. Yea, it could be that but just don't know.
It had a thick oxide crust on it, impossible to remove without using electrolytic means. Some of the gold coins coming off adjunct fields had the same problem. So it must be very old.
