If you saw the same time frame officers "brass" buckle selling for $650 (post cw) and the person selling it was going by the actual price line of these buckles and it was dug or non dug? .

I would assume this one being listed in Odonnals book and being "silver" and being dug would go for $650-$1,200 imo. I think $650 for a brass one sounds a bit high but it could be the price. This one is def. more rarer. If you can not find your 100% answer online on the price then contact a "certified appraiser" that deals with 19th century time period!

Just spoke with a friend of mine who owns a Civil War shop for over 25 years in Stafford about this buckle. He said $650 is very high for these buckles even for a silver one. Good luck with it.

Thanks Hut site, I hope to get it appraised at some point. anyone can ask any price he wants for something. And ask and ask and ask. The one I found on the web awas not dug

That was not supposed to post so soon, I was not done typing. It was my best find as of yet and I am pretty stoked! If its worth a decent price and I decide to sell it the money will go towards a new detector. I love my ace 250 but I also see what it lacks. I appreciate everyones help and honest opinions on this site.
