Silver mark question

Gonna really need to see a picture. Very often how some silver is constructed can help tell me if it's all made of sterling or silver alloy material. Also look for corroded spots where the plating may have flaked or worn off. Another thing is be sure your not missing any very tiny mark's, like what the French used. Those are very small and easy to miss if they're filled with gunk and the piece has a heavy oxidation all over it, plus they can be stamped at just about anywhere on the piece and not necessarily on the bottom like most.

Unlikely but sometimes it’s really small 2 mm size punches that are Hallmarks. Sometimes people miss them
